Prototype Masuyo Ten137 Production Diaries 1

Only two weeks into our (official) summer holiday and Khairul was already itching to do something. Anything really. Which usually results in-yes! You’ve got it!- a videO!

Problem: He’s going on a trip soon............

Solution: Challenging him to make something in 7 days

T:-6  & -5 saw Khairul researching furiously for some ideas  to make a film with! Came up with 4 stories with different themes (i’m just going to state the themes here)

1.       Political errors+miscommunication creates havoc. It’s worth paying the price to practice in the long run (short run costs may be too much for some)

2.       Racism.

3.       Are you willing to risk helping the unfortunate given some pretty big risks

4.       Mentorship+individual personality. Problems that come normal education institution in the long run. Why is it ineffective most of the time.

T:-4 - picks the fourth story. Yay! Faiez agrees to be in film

T: -3- Got carried away with writing script. Too much to shoot in a day. Whoops. Actress cancels on us T.T time for some DAMAGE CONTROL but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Faiez arrived at 12.Back up actress does not. shareen: heh heh heh. Khairul and Faiez write something about what music means to Faiez (who is also a composer) to be shot.

1.30 pm; nadzra, shukri and Falah arrived. Finished shooting interviews in an hour (yay for efficiency!!! Or were we missing something)

Went to shoot outdoors in the drizzle. Battery dies

So they decide to go to a mamak instead. Malaysian solutions are the best ones. (especially if they involve phood)

Came back in an hour to resume shooting! Yay for more efficiency!

Khairul pulled an all nighter and completed editing the video! Faiez goes home.

Project code name: Prototype Masuyo Ten-137 Production (Diary: 14th June 2010)

A prototype fictional narrative documentary short film.

As of yesterday, Project code name: Prototype Masuyo Ten-137 Production officially began....

The challenge of this project is to write.direct.produce the short prototype fictional narrative documentary in 7 days.

This is where the magic starts. (The sweet tin on the foreground is from a movie, guess what movie, if its right, the 1st person to get it right, you'll get RM50 and a copy of the movie) - hint; its a japanese movie in the 1980s, goodluck!)

I will be writing a few pages of script on:

The prototype short film synopsis is about “a female university student reports the development of her continuous efforts in mentoring three high school students, according to their own personalities, to achieve overall growth in social, academy, etc; in addition and comparison to their growth in formal educational institution.”

Hopefully I will find people who are free either from this Friday and next Monday for a one day shoot to fill in:

Actor:      1) Female, age 20 – 30 (as University student)

                2) 2 males, age 15 – 25 (as High school students)

                3) Female, age 15 – 25 (as High school students)

Production crew;     1) Director of photography

                                                2) Makeup artist

                                                3) Production designer/art director

                                                4) Production manager

                                                5) Sound operator

                                                6) Still photographer

Post-production crew;            1) Editor

                                                                2) Sound composer

                                                                3) Journalist

These are the other challenge; it will be fun as well to work with a team who never work together before to produce a quality story. Plus it will be a worthwhile experience which added to your CV/resume.

Hello beautifully ladies and handsomely gentlemen.

Since I’ve lost connection with internet last May, haven’t been able to do this until today.

I hope you have enjoyed the last 29 days of 2010 world cup tournament. That packs with surprises. As well as arousing our adrenaline during the matches.

Well early this morning, Germany won the third place, although they broke their tradition of winning the world cup every 20 years for 3 times, they are about to set another hat trick that will create a new tradition; winning the 3^rd place in World cup. They’ve done it since hosting in 2006, beating Portugal 3-1 and this morning 2010 world cup, beaten Uruguay 3-2. The question is, will they make it 3^rd place 2014? Haha! A fact to look forward to in Brazil World Cup 2014.

For those who supported Germany, here’s a little uplifting entertainment for you =)
