When in London in Easter

Go for the sports relief charity run!

I did it! and 'twas awesome! There was so much energy in the air so the atmosphere was really electrifying. Went with nurul debbie and aina for the run at embankment last sunday. At first I was totally  skeptical because:

1. I am sports person of the year
2. Why would I willingly get up at 7 am on a sunday???
3. the 3 mile run was basically running to and from embankment to temple 3 times! (so technically you can only do even number runs cos of the walk back. They tell you its 1, 3 or 6 mile runs but really its 2, 4 and 6) so I assumed that the view would be beyond boring.
4. Remember the cross country nightmares back in school...?

However these things really changed my point of view
1. Waking up early made me feel really really good about myself
2. People got really dressed up for the run and that made the view really interesting. (i was dressed as a sports person ;) ) There were tons of ballerinas, two bananas, a pair of mini mice, hula girls, a buzz light year, some super nerds, superwoman...............................which made me start thinking of themes that we could use next year
3. The weather that day was perfectly beautiful which made London look so much better (especially the view where you cross the waterloo bridge)
4. Their music selection was really good and that kept everyone's spirits up
5.There were street performers along the way which meant there was never a dull moment
6. I GOT A MEDAL!!!! (ok so did everyone else but getting something for doing sports is a big deal for me because it almost never happens)

so guys join our group next year! Our theme will be ORANG KAMPUNG ON THE RUN! complete with kompang and msian flags! if we stand out enough we might get on teevee!

Watched Alice in wonderland 3d on saturday. Major let down. but it was quite entertaining
so dont waste your time
and watch The Sinking Of Japan instead!!Thats probably one of the best omgitstheendoftheworld movies i have seen so far.

Watched a documentary on bbc3 the other day called Women, Weddings, War and Me. Which is about a 21 year old girl who came to London when she was 6 and has decided to go back to Afghanistan to discover what might have been.............................
It was really moving and makes me appreciate my opportunities in life a lot more.

How to get going in video??

       WHEEL 1

Anybody in London who have a video camera or slr like D90 can take video. Please take advantage of them equipment combine with your hobby or interest in video to experience something new; (You got nothing to lose except gaining experiences and fun!)
No matter how silly you think your ideas are, just do it.
  1. Best way to approach this;
Tell story through your own experience or something you are aware about (There’s no use telling stories that you have no knowledge about it);
If you are studying medic, do some story base on it.
If you are a footballer, do some docudrama related to it.
If you are in politics, maybe you could do some conspiracy theory video?
CASE STUDY
I did my 1st video, 25 mins long called “The Legandary Story” for my class farewell dinner party. Just a group of classmates plus our sporting housemaster, we come out with a fiction legendary gang existed in the boarding house with the explanation how they went missing. We had freaking lots of fun doing it; especially we can extend our bed time!! Haha!
At the end of showing the video to our class, we had some moments that is like at the end of the lord of the ring, when frodo Gandalf and all about to leaves the world to go to Malaysia and eat Nasi Lemak? You get what I mean.
It’s definitely worth it!

  1. Now to think where to show it?
-          Best way is to share with your friends, an event or gathering is the best way to share something personal.
CASE STUDY
(I use to show my videos out in front of my whole school. Some videos are likeable some are weird, well you have to expect both good and bad results):
-          Internet: Youtube!! Use facebook/ twitter to bring people to your video

  1. Anybody in London, it’s the land of opportunity for film. A lot of great directors’ start here; e.g Guy Ritchie and Christopher Nolan.
-          Join festivals: Raindance film festivals and a lot more festivals in London itself. There’s even Gay and Lesbian International film festival. Humanist documentary film festival. Asian and more.
CASE STUDY
Christopher Nolan before he becomes who he is now directing Batman Dark Night( no the 3rd one), used to study Chemistry in UCL, Nunu you are there now! Well his interest is doing film but his parents won’t allow him to do it. So at that time he joined the film club, became president and produce his 1st film, Following (1998) which he produce in 9 months, shooting during the weekend, going to class on weekdays. Was it worth it? Look at where he is now!! Haha! So there’s nothing to lose but to gain!

Me and you and a dog named boo

Wheel 2

is back from the dead! Been missing because:

1. was busy with Puteri Hang Li Po
2. i do not have internet at home!

and still dont. But because I have more time on my hands you are hearing from me! Having no internet at home feels so 90's. hahahahaha. But it does make you interact more with your housemates. Does having internet alienate us from each other? (am only thinking along these lines as we are doing marx this week). But then again it is only in the uk that I have the internet on all the time. Back home I only use the internet for a few hours at a time and can easily do without.

The past few weeks have been a blur of rehearsals and all other free time has been spent making costumes/tidying up admin stuff/wikipediaing for the next day's seminar because there is no time for a proper reading............................... Now that it's over.
I don't know. Sometimes I miss it. Sometimes I don't.
It didn't feel like it was mine.
Like it evolved into something else.
In the end.

Now I have to be a lean mean essay writing machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have recently fallen in love with Ribena Strawberry! Its so red and yummy and perfect that I dont know why ribena did not invent it sooner.

Been missing home a bit more these days. Probably due to lack of internet at home and the prospect of a 5 week holiday before me.
Sometimes when the sunlight shines in a certain intensity, and I am half awake, and with the right level of voices speaking in the background outside my door - I can almost cheat myself and pretend that I am home and mommy is going to come in any minute with my ornage juice.
Then my alarm actually rings and I am awake and the effect is ruined.

Going home to make dinner and feed bella some meds!

Important lesson of solving a problem!

PROBLEM
-          It is easy to plan anything in theory; if you never measure, you will procastinate
-          It becomes harder psychologically when you are facing with the responsibility of having the fate of your projects in your hand.
THEN...
-          You can either be emotional and think why this happen to you or;
You could think and execute actions that will lead you to the goal no matter how hard it hits you emotionally and physically.
-          At the end of the day you will fail. Failing teaches you important lessons. It is an obstacle you have to overcome and in time you will discovers the tool that will make you triumph over the problem.
-          Then you will be more prepared psychologically in your next challenge or projects.
CASE STUDY
-          I'm being challenged psychologically balancing my university work and pursuing my real lessons in breaking into the film industry. Personally I’m less interested in university as it does not bring me closer to my target unless I want to be a professor teaching film. I’m the type of person that learns in need to know basis. But I have to finish it so that I do not waste my money in the university. The most unsettling challenge I’m facing now is organizing my time for my work’s goals to daily, weekly and monthly. After doing so many styles of organizing I met a PR who has been working for 13 years and is now currently managing her production company. She seems so organize in managing her time to reach her goals, daily, weekly and monthly. When she told me about it, it was the same experience as when the dude who discovered gravity when sitting under the tree, discovered gravity. At that time I discovers  TIME MEASUREMENT. Without time measurement we will procrastinate! So estimate how long each section of your project, e.g 1) Research time 2)Writing = Essay assignment, will take then spread out the time over the period of now and the deadline. Write to me if you want more detail on this theory. This tool works for me!
CONCLUSION
-          So my conclusion is if any problems you are facing, whether it is simple or big problems keep doing actions rather than sit down and wonder about it. It will be solve internally or externally. Everybody has to go through it in order to FAIL and LEARN to SUCCEED IN TIME especially when we are young; it is the best time to experiment! Time waits for nobody.
REMINDER
- Self help books that tells you what to do A-Z doesn't help you unless it is clear you've already want a specific tool the book offers.
- Book with rules will limit your creativity. Think it as a tool. Use it or leave it.
